Dear Every Nation family,
We understand that this is a very difficult season for the church. As many of you would know by now, our beloved Pastor Timothy Loh went to be with the Lord on April 6, 2024. He had a massive heart attack after a speaking engagement. He was doing what he loved the most—preaching the word of God and encouraging the local church.
Pastor Timothy Loh was the senior pastor of Every Nation Church Malaysia from 1999 to early 2024. Touched by God in his teen years, he found his calling to serve God and pursued his God-given purpose. Trained at Portland Bible College, much of his pastoral development came during the time he spent serving his fellow students at USM Penang and the years he juggled his role as senior pastor while leading a team in a prominent IT company. He also spent several years in the restaurant industry, where he owned a few restaurants, before retiring in 2017.
With a heart to meaningfully bring the gospel to the ever-changing ‘now’ culture, he hoped to make the gospel relevant for the people of today. In 2023, he completed his M.A. in Evangelism and Leadership at Wheaton College with a desire to grow in his pastoral journey and live out the Great Commission where God had called him.
Under Pastor Tim’s leadership, fourteen churches were planted in different cities within Malaysia and one in China. Those who heard him preach appreciated his ability to simplify God’s word while drawing out its depth with his own brand of Malaysian humor.
Pastor Tim lived a full life, marked by his love for people and a passion for God. His profound impact on thousands of lives was evident in the overwhelming attendance at his wake services and the hundreds of honoring messages left on his social media. He departed this world in the way he would have wanted—reaching out to people over a meal, and preaching the word of God. Pastor Tim left an enduring legacy, having touched countless lives and personally guiding many to encounter God. He consistently believed in the next generation, investing in their growth not only in the pulpit but also in extending their influence.
We encourage everyone to keep his family in their prayers and to be supportive of one another during this grieving season. As we grieve in hope, we also want to celebrate the life and legacy of Pastor Tim. We thank the church for their overwhelming support, love, and prayers displayed during the wake and funeral services, both onsite and online. It was truly a reflection of the kind of impact he had, both locally and globally.
Let us take heed of the last message that he preached: to keep the main thing, the main thing. Stand firm and give fully to the work of the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15
55 “Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?”
56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
亲爱的马来西亚 Every Nation 大家庭，
我们知道现在是教会最困难的时期。众所周知，我们敬爱的罗牧师于 2024年4月6日，在晚餐交流会后心脏病发作而蒙主恩召。他在做他最热爱的事情——传扬神的话语和鼓励当地教会时离世。
罗牧师自1999年至2024年初一直担任马来西亚Every Nation教会的主任牧师。他在青少年时期受到了神的感动，找到了侍奉神的召唤，并追求他神赐的目标。他在波特兰圣经学院受训，牧师的许多发展都是在他于槟城理科大学服务学生期间以及他担任主任牧师的同时在一家著名IT公司领导团队的那些年中获得的。他还在餐饮行业工作了几年，拥有几家餐厅，并于2017年退休。
他怀着一颗将福音有意义地传达给不断变化的“现在”文化的心，希望使福音对今天的人们具有相关性。2023年，他在惠顿学院完成了福音传播与领导学硕士学位，渴望在他的牧师旅程中成长，并在神呼召他的地方实现大使命。
在罗牧师的领导下，在马来西亚的不同城市植堂了十四个堂会，其中一个在中国。听过他讲道的人都欣赏他能够简化神的话语，同时用他独特的马来西亚幽默感挖掘其深度。
罗牧师过着充实的生活，他对人的爱和对神的热情标志着他的一生。他对成千上万人的深远影响，在他守灵仪式的出席人数众多和在他的社交媒体上留下的数百条致敬信息中得到了体现。他以他希望的方式离开了这个世界——在餐桌上与人们接触，并传扬神的话语。罗牧师留下了深远的传承，触及了无数生命，并亲自引导许多人遇见神。他始终相信下一代，不仅在讲坛上督促他们的成长，还在扩展他们的影响力。
我们鼓励大家在这段哀悼的时期为他的家人祷告并互相支持。虽然我们怀着希望哀悼，我们也要庆祝罗牧师的生命和传承。感谢教会在守灵和葬礼服务期间，无论是现场还是在线所表现出的巨大支持、爱和祷告。这确实反映了他在本地和全球的影响。
让我们铭记他最后一篇讲道的主题：把最重要的事情，秉持为最重要的事情。坚定站立，全心全意地为主的工作付出。
哥林多前书 15
55 “死亡啊！你得胜的权势在哪里？
死亡啊！你的毒钩在哪里？”
56 死亡的毒钩就是罪，罪借着律法施展它的权势。
57 但感谢上帝，祂使我们靠着主耶稣基督得胜。
58 所以，我亲爱的弟兄姊妹，你们务要坚定不移，总要竭力做主的工作，因为你们知道自己在主里面的辛勤付出不会白费。
